First forecast from the UNC Charlotte Weather Broadcast Studio

Categories: News

The UNC Charlotte Weather Broadcast Studio was created by Danielle Miller, a Levine Scholar and Senior Meteorology student, via funding from the Levine Scholars Program and support from the Department of Geography and Earth Sciences. Located in McEniry room 231, the space allows students to gain valuable skills in forecasting, broadcasting, and communicating that are necessary in order to pursue a variety of careers in meteorology and atmospheric science. Not only does the space help to strengthen skills, but it helps foster teamwork, a sense of community outside of the classroom and will be accessible to meteorology students at all levels withing the program in the future. Ultimately the products, data and videos created in this studio will help prepare meteorology students for their careers and will also be shared with students, faculty and staff campus-wide to keep them weather aware and bring interested students into the program.
