In early January, students and faculty from Geography and Earth Sciences will be representing UNC Charlotte at the American Meteorological Society (AMS) Annual Meeting https://annual.ametsoc.org/2018/ in Austin, Texas. The conference hosts well over 8,000 attendees with applied and theoretical research related to atmospheric sciences, and includes both a Student Conference and the Full Conference. 18 students from our department will be there, including undergraduate Meteorology majors Charley Fite, Corrine DeCiampa, Richard Sirico, Justin Ballard (graduated in December!), Malik Williams, Danielle Miller, Tiff Fortier, Trevor Lowe, Jan Ising, Isabel Fajardo, Frank Mclean, Danni Harnett, Brenna Meisenzahl, and Caleb Stanley, Masters students Stephanie Edwards and Austin Mansfield, and INES PhD student Matt Gropp. Masters student Stephanie Edwards (Professor Brian Magi advising) will be presenting at both the Student Conference and the 22nd Conference on Satellite Meteorology and Oceanography, Meteorology major Charley Fite will be presenting at the Student Conference, and Professor Casey Davenport will be presenting two papers at the Full Conference in the 27th Symposium on Education.
