Categories: News

Stephanie Edwards, who joined UNC Charlotte from NC State University in Spring 2016 and is working on a Masters degree in Earth Sciences with Dr Brian Magi, was awarded summer funding from the North Carolina Space Grant consortium through their very competitive Graduate Research Fellowship Program described at http://ncspacegrant.org/index.php?page=grad-res-fellowship-pgm. Usually, only two graduate students in all of North Carolina receive this award! Stephanie will be working on research related to using microwave remote sensing data from satellite sensors to derive lightning flash rates, and her focus area will be the Southeastern USA. Please congratulate Stephanie when you see her roaming the halls during the summer!
