Congratulations to all the students who presented at this year’s UNC Charlotte Undergraduate Research Conference! There were 11 students from our Department (2rd highest representation in the University) and they all did an outstanding job. Congratulations to the GES Winners!

2nd Place Casey Fullbright, Investigating the Origins of an unknown landform adjacent to the Catawba River, US National Whitewater Center, Charlotte , Dr. Martha-Cary Eppes advisor
3rd Place Richard Huff, The Relationship Between Peak Electric Demand and Temperature Variables in the San Diego Gas And Electric Service Area, Dr. Manda Adams advisor
3rd Place Brandy Stimac, Estimating the threat of offshore carolina wind farms using 24-year Atlantic tropical cyclone climatology, Dr. Manda Adams and Dr. Matthew Eastin, co-advisors
Honorable Mention, Rebecca Adamik, Strike and Dip of Cracks on Mars, Dr. Martha-Cary Eppes advisor.

Dr. Eric Delmelle and Anya Byers (Geography PhD Student) helped judge the competition, while Dr. Martha-Cary Eppes played a key role in organizing the URC.
