Warren Pettee awarded funding to attend Unidata User’s Workshop

Warren Pettee, who finished his Meteorology degree in May and will be continuing at UNC Charlotte in the Earth Sciences MS program in the Fall, received full travel funding to attend the 2015 Unidata User’s Workshop (http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/events/2015UsersWorkshop/) in Boulder, Colorado, in June 2015. Warren has spear-headed many efforts at UNC Charlotte related to using and visualizing the massive amounts of data available for weather forecasting – see http://weather.uncc.edu for examples. He has even had a hand in developing instructional modules for some of our Meteorology classes. The Unidata workshop will introduce Warren to a broader community of academic and applied users of weather data, and give him even more ideas about how to navigate the world of meteorological data and data visualization as he prepares for graduate school.
